150 Years of The Wire - The Winter Era

Next season Warrington Wolves are celebrating 150 years since its formation in 1876. Later this year the club will be releasing the first of three commemorative books entitled '150 Years of the Wire'.

They are an illustrated history of Warrington Rugby League Club from its formation as Warrington Zingari in 1876 through to today's Warrington Wolves.

The first book will cover the “Winter Era”, the period from the club’s formation in 1876 through to the end of the 1995/96 Centenary Season.  The 256-page hardback book is packed with more 500 photographs running alongside the history of the club.

The second book will feature 150 greats of the club.  It will include all those in the Warrington Players Association Hall of Fame and also those who have made 150 or more appearances for the Wire.  This is scheduled for release in early summer 2026. 

The third book will cover the “Summer Era” and conclude the stories and photographs from the 2026 season.
